Honda CR-Z sells more than 10,000 units in first month
One month on from the launch of the Honda CR-Z hybrid vehicle in Japan, and already more than 10,000 units have been sold. This is more than ten times the monthly forecast which estimated 1000 sales per month.
These sales were split equally between existing Honda customers and new customers, with 60% of people opting for the CVT transmission option over the manual.
The vehicle has been well received amongst the Japanese public with customers ranging from those in their early twenties to late forties.
The CR-Z combines a 1.5 litre i-VTEC engine and Honda's proprietary Integrated Motor Assist™ (IMA) system, and creates fusion between futuristic and dynamic styling and exhilarating driving, along with outstanding fuel economy of 4.0 L/100km.
