Honda - A company that society wants to exist.
back to what's newOn 1st December Honda New Zealand was presented with the Deloitte/Management Top 200, AUT Business Ethics 2005 award.
While Honda lists 113th in the Top 200 businesses by sales volume, it ranks 79th by profitability. But it is the award for Business Ethics that made Managing Director Graeme Seymour smile.
"This award is a great credit to Honda's philosophies, people and hard work", says Seymour.
AUT sponsored this award so that they could identify role models, which demonstrate and make an outstanding contribution to ethical management practices in New Zealand.
Honda New Zealand won this year for its environmental programme that places emphasis on ultra-low-emission new vehicles and a complementary TreeFund programme that provides funding for the planting of native trees on the back of new car sales.
"Focus on cleaner burning vehicles and native tree planting across the country provides all Honda New Zealand customers with opportunity for enhancing the air we breathe and maintaining a healthier environment for our future" says Seymour.
Honda's Price Promise, an open and transparent programme to remove artificial depreciation on new cars, also contributed to this winning entry. "Being kind to the environment, doesn't mean being cruel to your wallet at Honda", said the judges.
This award will take pride of place next to the AA/JD Power award presented to Honda New Zealand in 2004 for Customer Satisfaction.
