2021 Honda Civic Type R announced with Upgraded Performance, Refreshed design, and new LogR Datalogging App.

The redesigned 2021 Civic Type R, Honda’s highly acclaimed Hot Hatch is confirmed as launching in New Zealand with notable upgrades to ride and handling, braking performance and engine cooling. Officially on sale Monday 12th October, vehicles for test driving will be available this month, ahead of first stock arrival late November 2020.

On 6th September 2020, driving for Scuderia AlphaTauri Honda, in a car using Honda’s RA 620 Power Unit, Pierre Gasly won the Italian Grand Prix.

This is his first win in F1 and the team’s second ever win, after its 2008 victory at this same Monza track, racing as Scuderia Toro Rosso.

It is Honda’s first win with the team and its 77th in Formula 1.

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced that the Civic Type R Limited Edition has set an all-time lap time record for front-wheel drive models at the Suzuka circut during test driving conducted for the final evaluation of the model’s performance, lapping the circuit in 2 minutes 23.993 seconds*.  

Honda New Zealand is excited to confirm the 2021 Civic Type R will be launched in New Zealand.

Honda celebrated our 30 year anniversary in New Zealand. We are very proud of this milestone and to celebrate we have decided to fund the planting of 30,000 native trees over the next year.

It’s a fitting way for us to say thank you New Zealand, and continues the work of our Honda TreeFund, started in 2004, which has funded over 650,000 native trees in NZ since its inception.
